Call for Short-Term Experts: Plastic Mold Design and Manufacturing Training Module in Egypt
Project: Skills4Trends (P 1021) – Partner Africa Project
Location: Egypt (Sadat City-Monufia and Alexandria, Governorates, Egypt)
Duration: May 5th, 2024 – August 30th, 2024 (Up to 25 working days)
Background:
The Internationaler Bund (IB) and IHK-Projektgesellschaft Ostbrandenburg (IHK-PG) are implementing the Skills4Trends project in Egypt, focusing on skills development and employment promotion. We seek a qualified expert to develop and deliver a training module on Plastic Mold Designing and Manufacturing for the Sadat City Investors Association (SCIA) and Alexandria Business Association – Vocational Training and Employment Center (ABA-VTEC).
Objectives:
- Develop a comprehensive training module on plastic mold design and manufacturing, aligned with industry demands and job market trends.
- Equip trainees with essential skills in CAD software, mold making principles, design optimization, and mold flow analysis.
- Provide technical guidance to the project team for establishing and operating a dedicated training facility.
- Deliver two interactive training courses for approximately 20 participants each.
- Evaluate the training program's effectiveness and offer recommendations for improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a detailed training manual and supporting materials.
- Conduct pre-training assessments and post-training evaluations.
- Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions.
- Guide trainees in identifying suitable career pathways within the sector.
- Provide technical assistance and support to project team for trainee recruitment and training facility operations.
- Evaluate the overall program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Submit a pre-final and final report summarizing the project outcomes and findings.
Responsibilities

Expert Profile:
- Degree in engineering (mechanical engineering preferred) or related field
- Minimum 7 years of practical experience in mold design across various applications and industries, including plastic mold design.
- At least 5 years of experience in curriculum development and training program implementation.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, mold flow simulation tools, and assessment design.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
